Personal Profile

 

Tao Ding received the B.S.E.E. and M.S.E.E. degrees from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2009 and 2012, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2015. During 2013 and 2014, he was a visiting scholar in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN, USA. During 2019 and 2020, he was a Visiting Scholar of the Robert W. Galvin Center for Electricity Innovation at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is currently a Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University.

His current research interests include electricity markets, power system economics, power system planning, and reliability evaluation. He has published more than 200 papers, where 5 papers are selected as the highly cited paper; and 11 journal/conference papers are awarded. He has authored “Springer Theses” recognizing outstanding Ph.D. research around the world and across the physical sciences—Power System Operation with Large Scale Stochastic Wind Power Integration. Dr. Ding has been selected as the 2021 Most cited Chinese Researchers by Scopus.

Dr. Ding is an IEEE Senior Member, the Editor of IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, IEEE Power Engineering Letters, IET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, and IEEE Systems Journal; the Guest Editor of IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, Applied Sciences.
